One thing’s for sure: no one will be leaving this place in the same state as they arrived! Visitors to a room in the Dortmund Field Works-hotel will be thrown off their balance in half an hour of sleepwalkingly absurd everyday interventions. An drei Tagen werden nun vertraute Orte mit uns in den Dialog treten. Ob laut hinein ins Innenstadtgetümmel oder merkwürdig verzerrt durch Kopfhörer – Begüm Erciyas und Matthias Meppelink erforschen das poetische und politische Potential der menschlichen Stimme im Bezug auf den Lebensraum Stadt. Und alle können mitmachen.

When quiet observers begin to speak. Begüm Erciyas and Matthias Meppelink have been busying themselves with specific situations and buildings in the city since September 2014. Now familiar spaces will be opening up a dialogue over the space of three days. Whether diving into the noisy life of the city centre or distorting themselves strangely through headphones Begüm Erciyas and Matthias Meppelink will be exploring the poetic and political potential of the human voice in relation to open spaces. And everyone can participate.

Traumwelten vollziehen sich vor dem Auge – fast wie der innere Blick durchs Schlüsselloch zur eigenen Fantasie. Die bildende Künstlerin und Choreografin Naoko Tanaka erschafft mit Absolute Helligkeit eine Illusion aus Licht und Dunkelheit, Körper und Schatten, eine Wanderung von Zustand zu Zustand. Mal erscheint es wie eine versunkene Welt unter Wasser, mal wie eine zurückgelassene Höhle oder ein Kinderzimmer in der Nacht.

Dream worlds come alive before our eyes – it’s almost like peeping look through the keyhole to look at our own inner fantasies. The pictorial artist and choreographer Naoko Tanaka uses Absolute Brilliance to create an illusion of light and darkness, physicality and shadows, a steady progress from one state to the next. Sometimes we seem to be in a sunken drowned world, and at other times in an abandoned cave or a child’s room at night.
